Entry to Employment
Entry to Employment is designed to equip young people to become independent, self-motivated, informed and empowered to take control of their lives. The aim of the programme is to enable learners to progress into employment with training, apprenticeships or onto further learning programmes.

E2E learners and Tees Achieve staff who took part in a recent trip to Sweden
ABOVE FROM LEFT TO RIGHT Front: Ben Turner, Niall Cooke, Sophie Harvey (students) Middle: Marilyn Poole (Education Manager) Rachel Bulmer, Callum Richardson, Holly Levett (students) Kathy Howard (Education Manager) Back: Andrew Jones (student) Jacki Lewis (Area Lead Officer) Anthony Blaggan (student).
Learners participating in this programme have the opportunity to gain qualifications up to and including Level 1 Functional Maths, English and ICT skills, Vocational skills and Personal and Social Development and the planned attendance is 30 hours a week.
We offer learners assistance to develop their vocational skills by undertaking work experience in either a real life environment or a community project. They may attend for up to 3 days each week. In many cases this leads to full time employment or an apprenticeship, but as a minimum, it will enhance life skills and raise general employability and provide learners with a current work reference.

Congratulations to them all for taking part in this three-term course, namely, ICT/Skills for Life. None of them had any ICT skills when they first enrolled. Through their hard work, determination and regular attendance on the course, they have achieved four qualifications:-

The National Test in Adult Literacy - Level 1
-
OCR ICT/Skills for Life - Entry Level, Units 1 and 2
-
OCR ICT/Skills for Life - Entry Level, Unit 3

Well done everyone!
From September 2010, they will be working towards a new qualification, namely, Functional Literacy & ICT where they will use their new-found skills to reap the rewards of their hard work and determination, thus, be one of the first groups to achieve it.
Special thanks go to Tristar Homes for organising the up-skilling of their members. Thank you!
